When It Rains, It Floods: Portico on the Southeast Michigan stormwater project

Portico, published by Taubman College, ran "When It Rains, It Floods", a feature on the regional stormwater project funded by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. Kathy Velikov is co-principal investigator of the Taubman College component, and Geoffrey Thün is a collaborator.

The project's advisory workshops involved 36 organizations. "Urban flooding is a complex problem," Velikov says in the article, and the work requires "transdisciplinary collaborations." Thün describes a pan-sector model that can "create strong connections" between research and community impact.
